Honu Tenor Ukulele

Size Me Up
Sizing Information

Soprano -Soprano is the smallest of the four ukulele body sizes and is the traditional ukulele size.  The Honu Soprano is perfect for kids learning ukulele or for adults who prefer the brighter tone of a traditional ukulele.

Concert -Concert ukuleles are currently the most popular ukulele body size worldwide.  Bigger than a soprano but smaller than a tenor, a concert uke is the perfect middle ground for most players.  This size is suitable for all ages, though small children may be better suited to a soprano.

Tenor -Tenor ukuleles are exploding in popularity thanks to the full, deep sound produced by their larger body size.  Bigger than the concert, the tenor is great for teenagers and adults that are looking for the most volume from their ukulele and extra space for their fingers on the fretboard.

Baritone -As the name suggests, a baritone ukulele is the largest and deepest sounding of all of the ukulele sizes.  Usually tuned like the highest four strings of a guitar (DGBE), rather than the GCEA tuning found on most ukes, a baritone is great if you have a background in guitar because you won't have to learn any new chord shapes.  They are also very fun if you are a ukulele player looking to experiment with a different tone.

Model - Honu

Honu Series

Our Honu Series is perfect for the beginner ukulele player. The all-laminate sapele construction provides a full, bright tone and the laminate construction means it is durable and less susceptible to humidity changes. Aesthetically, it’s fairly simple, but it never compromises on sound quality.

Size - Tenor

After a surge in popularity in the last couple of years, the tenor is poised to become the biggest selling uke body size soon.  At 26", it is another increase in size from the concert (at 24").  The benefits of that larger size: you get even more room on the fingerboard to shape the chords and the larger body provides even more resonance, volume and depth.  The tenor ukulele will sound quite a bit deeper than the other options, so it strays a bit from traditional ukulele tone.

    Affordable but NOT cheap.

I bought a Honu Tenor Low G and it sound amazing. This is the sound that I was looking for. The finition of the instrument is perfect. I got some questions and they answer very fast. The shipping was fast too. I have really nothing to complain. If I buy another uke, definitly it will be with Honolua.

    Excellent starter ukulele

As an absolute music player, I wasn't sure if I was going to continue the journey, so I bought a fairly inexpensive uke on Amazon. Had it for about 3 wks. before I got frustrated with it and contacted Dave and chose the Honu in a tenor size. Very happy with it. Nice tone with my preferred low G tuning. Very nice fit and finish with nice fret wire end smoothing (by Dave himself) and comfortable string action.
Note that there is no strap pin on the neck heel (I much prefer to attach a strap to the headstock anyways to support the neck in the right position).
    Highly recommended starter ukulele!

    Great Ukulele!

I highly recommend these Ukulele’s to everyone! The sound and wood/string quality is amazing! I have struggled with my fingers hurting from pressing down too firmly on strings that were not leveled properly, so to speak. I did not have this issue at any time with this brand! I found this Honolulu Tenor Ukulele to be very easy and fun to play while continuing to work on my skills! You will not find anything cheaply made on Honolulu Ukuleles! This will not be the last Uke I purchase from them!

    Amazing uke

When I first Got the uke their was a bit of a buzz on the 3rd String. I ended up finding the issue and after a quick restring its back to normal. The noise quality is amazing and it feels really good to play.
